Antique Austrian Imperial 800 Silver Figural Cupid Cherub Angel Tazza Compote. The piece is in great estate condition and ready to use. There is a deep scratch the underside of the tray though. Please see pictures for details. The piece is very much in the style of Josef Carl von Klinkosch but it is signed J.A.S. or possibly J.A.G. the last letter is smudged . There is also a JL mark on the dish and cupids quiver of arrows. The base is marked with the Dianna head and cartouche for 800/1000 silver but I can not make the letter next to her head as it is also smudged so I am unaware of what city it was assayed in. There is also a clear double headed eagle mark indicating that the silversmith was an Imperial Purveyor to the Austrian Court. The top tray is signed JL and the Dianna head with 3 and an A beside it for 800 silver and Vienna. There is a monogram on the underside of the tray that I cannot decipher. The piece depicts cupid holding a horn of plenty.
The tazza stands 9" tall, 6.5" wide at the base and the tray at the top measures 6" in diameter. The entire piece weighs a total of 817.5 grams / 26.29 troy oz
