Antique 1840's Austrian Hungarian Silver Turquoise & Pearl Chunky Gilt Necklace
Antique 1840's Austrian Hungarian Silver Turquoise & Pearl Chunky Gilt Necklace. The piece is in excellent estate condition and ready to wear. We believe two of the pearls are replacements but are not 100% sure. The piece is hallmarked with the number 13. This is for the German / Austrian loth system and means the piece is made of .813/1000 fine silver. The clasp is set with turquoise and pearls over a hand crafted gilt filigree floral design. The simple use of just the number 13 was often used for several different cities that were part of the Austro Hungarian empire around the 1830's through the 1850's before the entire country switch to the Diana head marks.
The necklace will wear as a choker on most necks.
The piece measures 13.25" long by 2.25" wide and weighs a total of 3.635 Troy Oz / 113 grams.
